MM3 Recap

Mopeds have become a new trend for students to get around Michigan State Universities large campus.

"It's just nice being able to get on campus and to your class pretty fast, and you don't have to worry about parking," said Emily Duddles, a junior at MSU.

Although mopeds have become convenient for Duddles, another student is concerned for her safety when walking about campus.

"It's scary as someone walking around because they don't always pay attention and they could run into you while your trying to cross the road," said Karina Kluck, sophomore at MSU.

Moped users find them selves breaking basic traffic laws that continue to put pedestrians walking around campus in danger.

Moped users are suppose to follow the driving laws the exact same way as people driving cars, but many incidents have shown that moped drivers continue to not follow these.

Emily Duddles, a junior at MSU, loves the convenience of her moped to get to and from class on such a large campus at MSU.

However, Karina Kluck, a sophomore at MSU, finds herself frightened for her safety when walking around campus with so many people breaking the driving laws on mopeds.

The Director of Fan Engagement and Digital Marketing, Jim Donatelli, has been continuing to promote a new student organization called ASSET at Michigan State University.

"We created ASSET this year in a way to bring together all of our student sections on campus," Donatelli said.

The student group has been lead by Senior, Ben Limb, who has been dedicating his time to help establish this very new student group.

"We knew that the best approach to have these student sections succeed, is to have students leading them," Donatelli said.

As Limb continues to help lead the ASSET team, Donatelli hopes to see ASSET become more established over time and start to have an impact on student engagement at sporting events.
